Default Modified Rocker Side Armor OR-Fab or PSC

While out wheeling last weekend I slid off of one rock and into another and I crushed my Drivers side Rocker panel.

So now I am looking at buying either the OR-Fab rocker side armor or the Poison Spyder Armor to cover the dent and protect from further damage. I am leaning towards the OR-Fab because it extends under the fender flares.

What I am wondering is if anyone has added a step/pivot point to their armor, I need something to help my 8 year old get into the Jeep. I have access to a tubing bender, welder, and plasma cutter so I can get just about anything fabbed up to make a step I just don't have access to anything that will bend 3/16 steel into the complex curves of the JK Rockers so I will have to buy the armor and modify from there.

I am looking at ideas for steps. I am thinking about either some 2"x6" tubing notched to fit the rocker or bending some 2" tubing and making a step something like the Pure Jeep sliders.

Hey duluthjk - Looks like a nice battle scar from a great weekend of wheeling! Fabricating some "add on" sliders to the rocker armor sounds like a great weekend project; but if you don't find the time and want to toss on a set of solid sliders to complement the armor.. we have the 84207 slider to match in case your interested..Happy wheeling!

Is it possible to get the Rocker Side Armor in Bare Steel since I would most likely be taking the finish off to weld on the step/pivot point? I like the sliders but I don't want to lose any ground clearance.

I have an idea to protect the pinch weld on the underside too.

No worries! We can get you a set special ordered with out powder coating. just send me a PM with your name/address and who you are going to order it through (northridge, Quadratec, etc...) and I'll be sure to have them sent out in "raw".

You'll have to post some pic once you get it all finished up!

Well the OR-Fab Sliders will be ordered shortly I got some 1.75" .120 tubing and some other various scrap steel. Now to bring it all to my friend with a bender and we should be set. Pics will follow in a couple of weeks when we both have some time to do some building.
