Default Mods?

I just got a 09 jk x and this is my first jeep. I have already been looking and the free low cost mods to do. But my real question is I want to make the jeep for the mud and trail in mississippi not rocks or anything like that. What are some of the upgrade I should do? When I got the jeep it didn't have stock tires on it so that's already marked off the list. Any ideas would help

Jeeps are extremely capable vehicles right out of the box.

Not sure what your budget is but I would look at armor, winch, tow straps....stuff to protect and stuff to get you out of a jam. The other toys are just icing on the cake.

Drive it around in the type of environment you will typically use the Jeep. You will figure out pretty soon what mods you need / want.

The budget would be just having to save. I was looking at the src bumper then adding a winch and all that. Would that be a good first upgrade or a lift?

That would be a great first mod. Lifts come with their own set of challenges and costs.

Don't forget to look at used parts....there are lots of guys who upgrade or sell off for various reasons. You can pickup some great used gear on this forum and Craigslist is another valuable resource. I have also picked up all sorts of brand new gear that someone purchased let sit in their garage and then either sold the Jeep or need to sell to free up some cash.

My only other piece of advice would be don't rush the mods....figure out what YOU really want or need and then buy it one time.
