Default Moog ball joint upgrade

I just replaced the ball joints on my 2012 Rubicon with some Moogs that have a lifetime warranty and are greasable. The problem is on the lower one, they put the grease zirc in the middle so the ujoint hits it when it rotates. Has any one come up with a solution? Oh yeah and don't get me started on why I have to explain to my wife that I need to buy new ball joints on this frickin king if the off road with only 7000 miles on it.

have you considered taking the zerk off and putting a stopper on? I know with my LCAs, I had to do that with one because otherwise the zerk would be exposed and prone to taking a pounding. sure its a hassle to regrease, but meh.

also, do you have a link to what you bought?

are you running a big lift? if not your dealer should have replaced them. How bad were they?

To answer both questions: It's a 2" AEV lift and I did put the plug back in the port for the zirc...prolly is safer, then ill just put the zirc back in at refill time. I opted to replace factory junk cuz my rims have some 4" backspacing that may have contributed and would hate to keep bringing it back in every year for ball joints.

I would go to Harbor Freight and pick up their 50 piece assorted grease fitting kit. They have some right angle and maybe some swivel fittings. That might be all the clearance you need.

Good luck!

I just did the same thing and my Moogs came with a plastic insert for the bottom ones.
