Default Mopar diff fluid or Mobil 1

I just had my front inner axle seals replaced under warranty and it’s got 40k on it so I figure what the hell I’ll change the fluid in the rear. Having a tough time deciding between the standard Mopar fluid or a synthetic like Mobil 1. Any thoughts??

You're overthinking it. I've run everything from Royal Purple and Mobil 1 Synthetic, to the cheap Carquest synthetic. It all works just the same.

You won't go wrong with the MOPAR Synthetic .. IT is designed by the engineers that designed Jeep. BTW.. that's what is in mine and will be again. Trans, TCase, Diffs.

I thought the Mopar synthetic was 90w-140 the one use use if you tow which I do not. I don’t think Mopar has the 75w-90 synthetic, just the 80w-90 conventional.

I meant more like conventional vs synthetic. I would assume like with engine oil there’s a benefit to using synthetic diff fluid. And like engine oil I’m sure there are the overwhelming favorites people have. Just kind of curious. I’m actually probably going to go with Lucas synthetic

Just use regular old dino oil. Any GL-5 spec is fine.

gear oil stinks lol. If you have limited slip make sure you use an oil with the proper additives. Gear oil is pretty cool stuff really. unless you get it contaminated with water it really lasts a good long time just by the nature of how it works..

I like doing it every 25k. I swear if i take my foot off the brake after fresh fluid, the jk just coasts so much more. I really can feel the difference.
