Default Mopar Hood Lock Arrived

It weighs three pounds and uses the Ignition key. And it sets itself to the key. The kit includes new plastic inserts to reinstall the nose. I have not done the install as my pop rivit gun does not handle the large pop rivits. I hope I do not have to have the dealer charge me an hour for popping four rivits. The lock holes are already drilled on either side of the hole for the hood release.
Am calling around to find who has the right pop riveter.

How much was it? Can you use nuts and bolts to install it? Did you do the grill mod? Want to see where it sticks out.

Thanks
Mike

You can get it from your local dealer. You can get it keyed to your ignition or not and can get the locking gas cap the same way.

Yes. I sent the pic of the flyer to the dealer and the parts guy ordered it for me on Friday. It came in yesterday.
The hood lock sets itself to your key. The gas cap is the standard locking cap that comes with a barrel insert that is keyed manually to the key. The dealer charges .5 hour to do the keying. The locksmith takes 10 minutes and charged me 10 bucks to do the one for my 05 Unlimited. Maybe his price has gone up in the last 2 years. We'll see.

I will post pics as soon as I can either get a pop rivet gun or see if my hand fits in to install bolts. I could scan the instruction sheet and post that if you are interested.
