Default Mopar mirror....

Just picked up my MOPAR mirror kit at lunchtime. Good quality kit. The kit comes with a mounting base and a full size side mirror/arm. I will post some pics of the kit when I get home. The only thing I can't figure out is why they made the mount holes for the mirror untapped. You have to tap the threads to mount the mirror to the base. It actually looks worth the 70 bucks.

I'll be looking forward to those pics, because I was planning on purchasing this as well..and haven't gotten a good look at it.

I walked down the block to the Jeep dealer and had the service guys tap the holes. They always love to see the dumb things DC does like sending you an accessory with untapped holes.

But, since I've lost the instructions , are the screws that go through the mirror/base supposed to stick out about 1/4 inch behind the plate? I don't think they'll make contact with the body when I attach it, but it doesn't look right....

Very cool-- thanks, armycop!

It looks like I'm doing everything right... those screws must just stick out a little in the back. Thanks again.

Default Keeping stock mirrors??

Are you just leaving the metal bracket attatched and running stock mirrors until you remove the doors? Or are you guys taking off the door mirrors and leaving the one mounted on the pillar?

Now that is the question of the day, isn't it? I honestly haven't figured it out yet. unless I can find an attractive way of removing the OEM mirror and leaving just the relocated one, I'll probably take on and off the whole bracket with the doors.

Any other thoughts?

Would be nice if someone came up with a kit to fill the holes from the factory mirror. I have been running with both mirrors. The mopar mirror folds away, so when driving, you do not even see. Luckily our weather here in Atlanta has been nice....so I have not had the doors on in some time.....
