I seen a mirror relocation bracket in the brochure for the JK on page 43. It looks like it uses the TJ style mirror though. Could not copy the pic to here but if you go to jeep.com then brochures then unlimited you can see it there. Hope that helps a little

It is a tj mirror with a untapped mounting plate. Need a 1/4" by 20 tap. I am not happy with this $60 solution.

I've installed it. The instruction sheet does recommend to thread the adapter plate with a 1/4-20 tap--I had that on hand so it was no big deal. However, I'd take it past "recommend" and say to definitely do it. The supplied screws are regular machine screws, not self-tapping.

This mirror is installed only when the driver's door is removed. Since I couldn't see an easy way to remove the driver's door-mounted mirror, it's an either/or thing. Either you have the door and the mirror the Jeep came with installed, or you remove the door (and that mirror goes with it) and install this mirror in its place. If you tried to leave this mirror on with the door mounted, the two mirrors will bang against each other, severely limiting how far you can open the door.

Sorry, but I didn't take any pic's.

Here's a thought... why not permanently remove the mirror on the door? I am sure you would have to find a way to cap the hole on the door but it seems to make sense to me. That is what I was going to do for both sides.

The OEM mirror on the door is super easy to remove-- it's just two bolts on the inner panel of the door (make sure the door is open, or the bolts will be hidden behind the side of the dash).

I was going to remove the mirror from the door and just leave the Mopar bracket, but as others have said that leaves me with 2 exposed bolt holes in my door.... so I've decided to just take on and off the Mopar bracket as I remove/replace the doors. Any other suggestions?

You can actually run both mirrors with no problems, other than it looks a little odd. The mopar mirror folds away when not in use, and the factory door strap keeps the door and factory mirror from banging into the mopar mirror. I ended up taking my factory mirror off and putting a cover over the hole.

I like this idea better. I don't know if they're actually out yet. They're from Warrior Products.
