Default Mopar side rails

Does anyone know if the mopar side rails need to be modified to upgrade to 35" tires. The mopar side rails r the round tubular ones.

If you are talking about the Mopar Enhanced Rock Rails you might find it necessary to trim them down in the rear if you get your Jeep flexing much. When I had mine, my rear passenger tire (35") would rub the rail when it was fully stuffed.

Well I actually swapped mine out before trimming them. I have read of quite a few guys doing it though. The end caps comes off, trim it to your liking, sand it, paint, put the end cap back on. I think I would have removed them from the Jeep before doing it had I trimmed them. Removing them was actually really easy.

Yes, I have a Rubicon X. It came with the tubular ones you are talking about. I traded mine for some Poison Spyder Rocker Knockers. Other people on this forum and the Wrangler Forum have trimmed these before. They usually trim so there's a half inch or so hanging past the tube.
