Default MoPOWER PLEEEEEAAAZZZZZ!!!!

Hi folks, haven't stopped by for quite some time. I have a question that I'm sure has been asked allot on this site.

I gotta '08 Sahara 4 door with the manual shift. this thing feels so gutless. I think I could almost run faster than the JK at times. what kind of mods do yah'll prefer to do to the engine/exhaust? I've checked out good ol' Quadratech & noticed that there are some goodies available, but I'm skeptical on what will actually work. are there any good chips? I don't want to install a gravel strainer, unless I can find one that will actually filter the air & not allow a ton of crap into my intake. would headers be a good choice? maybe dualling the exhaust?

Thanks for your help!

Forget all that nonsense. Regearing is your only real option if you want to get the JK into its power band.

Are you talking about SPEED or TORQUE?

New gear will give more torque

If you want a liitle bit more acceleration, you need a CAI

IMHO, 3.73 is enough for a manual JK (with 32" tires)

N.B. THe JK IS NOT a TJ. Forget the old wrangler with powerfull acceleration. The wrangler is heavier and stronger, therefore more slow....

The best and most noticeable mods would be to regear & purchase the Superchips.

she just needs more get up & go (street). this is actually my wifes JK. unfortunately, it may never see dirt as long as she owns it. the gearing is something I have questioned from the start. it's set up with 3:23's. for a 6 spd. manual, I don't like it.

BTW, why did they ever get rid of that awesome 4.0 I-6????

Awesome... in a TJ

Not strong enough for the heavy JK

Anyway, I prefer a V-6 than a I-6

your the 1st person I've heard say that. if you check out the specs, the 4.0 was a more powerful engine than the lowly mini van V-6. there's more torque involved in the I-6 configuration.

so who makes a GOOD chip? I've messed around with some awful chips on my Cummins powered Ram. I want to make sure I get something that will work properly.

That's incorrect. The JK serves up both more HP and torque than its predecessor.

Gear it. It will certainly be more sprightly and accelerate more quickly.
