MORE BL installed-Helpful Hints
Installed a MORE 1" BL today and have a couple of recommendations.
1. The instructions say "For 2008 JK's, use larger bolts/spacers in hole locations 9 and 10". These hole locations are the second from the rear on both driver's and passenger side. This is a misprint I guess. The larger bolts/spacers are actually installed in the rear locations, just in front of your rear bumper in holes 11 and 12. Of course this is '08 only.
2. If you have a winch, and like mine, the winch is within 1/8" of your grill, removing your grill becomes a job in itself due to having to remove the winch first to allow for clearance for removing the grill. I found that you can remove your front turn signal lenses and access the front body mount bolts (the bolts attaching the mount to the body, 2 ea. on each side). You will still have to pop the grill off at the bottom corners and slightly bend it to allow room (it is plastic), but it allows you to remove the front mounts easily. Saved me an hour vs. removing/re-installing the winch.
Installation was easy once I figured out the instructions were wrong (see #1). Still have to raise my rear bumper, maybe next weekend.
