Default More Power Captain

Hello all,

I am looking for some good real world options for power. I just installed 35s and the dog that my 08 Sahara already was is even worse.

Coming from a Jeep SRT8 with almost 600HP my first thought is a 6.1. But then I start to think of why I sold the SRT8.
So my second thought was a MDS 5.7. Does anyone have this done on this forum? And I know most of the Chrysler PCM can be swapped w/o harnesses, but my main concern is milage, and fitment.

My third thought was what can be done to the 3.8l to give it a bit more bark? I know there is a S/C, but what other options are there...?

Thanks.

the gains from a supercharger down low are not impressive from the dyno charts. Yes there is gains there. But not worth 3grand.

Just regear the axle to 5.13 and be done with it.

Drill the mirrors. It gave me an extra 13hp and 3mpg.

Good luck with that.

I found that adding a 2 1/2" x8 or 9" long cone filter addes some power in the seat feeling and sounds great when it opens up.

I'm biased against the blowers on the JK engine to begin with, but here's my 2cents. From what I've been able to tell from a few comments on here from people with blowers, and one I KNOW of locally, they are not worth the money. The stock JK engine is not made to withstand much more than about a 50 or so HP increase without problems. In my eyes, 5 grand is a HELL of alot for 50 HP. These engines just don't seem to work well with power adding mods like earlier engines did. I haven't seen ONE person on here YET have BRAINS enough to add ONE thing at the time to see if it makes a difference. Everybody adds everything all at once. Hell, when I was drag racing, I never threw more than one change at a time to the car. I wanted to know what did what and how much. From what I've gathered, the exhaust is probabld a good place to start. A good cat back MIGHT help, but I'd do LOTS of research before I changed anything. I think that cooltech guy might be onto somethin. I'd sure never waste my money on headers though. They already have um.

I know several people who have a ripp mods supercharger but on different platform. each had to rework the entire system to make it work correctly and efficiently. PM me for details.
