Default Mounting hi-lift jack to hood using Ace bracket...

Hello

Has anyone tried out the ACE bracket to mount their hi-lift jack to their hood?

The bracket looks well made, but it looks like the body of the bracket is making metal to metal/paint contact with the hood!

I love the concept of mounting it on the hood but if there is even just a little bit of contact you'll find a nasty mess of paint having been scraped off...

Is there a simple fix for this or is the photo misleading and the brackets don't touch other than the two stainless bolts?

Matthew

Well i dunno about ace but i got mine off eBay and haven't had any problems. I just cut a lil piece of rubber the size of the base of the mount to act as a gasket/isolator/paint protector. Cost like 45 bucks too
