Default Mounting spare to tuffy security deck

Hello,
I am looking into getting the tuffy security deck for the unlimited I just picked up. I would like to be able to carry my spare inside the jeep so i was curious if it would be possible to mount a slanted spare tire carrier made for a truck bed, OR fab has a great example, on top of the security deck. I will be running a 37 inch tire so I know this will be heavy and the deck will most likely need some reinforcement to the lid since it is designed to open. For this I figured I could simply drill some hole and bolt it to the side panels permanately. Also where the tire carrier attaches to the top I would run plates to prevent the bolts from ripping out in an accident. So if you have a tuffy security deck let me know if you think its possible.

Thanks.

IMHO....you already recognize the issues you will have.

You'll lose the functionality of raising the deck lid for access, you'll definitely need support from underneath and I'd recommend reinforcing the attachment points so that you don't rip right through the top of the deck.

Keep in mind also that the top of the security deck is a few inches higher than the sides of the jeep. You'll need to ensure you have enough slant to still get a hard/soft top on your rig.

With that type of stuff in mind, is it possible? Sure!
