Nope, it´s true, there is no way you can do that with stock exhaust.

That's what I figured, which really sucks because I don't want a loud exhaust like the cat back exhausts. Afe makes a scorpion muffler that I think is smaller than the stock, maybe that will work?

I have a thinner muffler in the stock location, and my tank fits. But I´m not using a viair tank, I´m using a 2.5kg ABC fire extinguisher tank that it´s thinner than any viair.

The 2.5 gal tank is huge ... If the muffler is in the stock location, I don´t think it will fit, but if the exhaust pipe goes straight to the back, then I think it may work.

If you don´t want the noise, you can install the muffler before the axle, and then you send the exhaust pipe straight to the back. I don´t know how the exhaust shops work in the States, but here in Argentina, that mod whould be peace of cake...

Synergy makes a mount for a 2 gallon tank between the engine and radiator. I have this on my rig and it works well, easy to install. do all of you plumbing before mounting it will make life much easier.

If you relocate the Evap canister to the rear, it leaves a lot of space for an air tank. I fabricated a bracket and put a 2.5 gallon tank in that location. It is a little lower than I like, but definitely has more clearance than other parts that hang lower.

I don't know why some photos are upside down.

Perfect! I'm going to see if there's room inside my front bumper, but at least now I have a backup plan. Guess I can go ahead and order to tank. Thanks!

I can mount it under the tank with the vacuum pump relocated. The question I have now is orientation. I can only attach one photo per post though, so bear with me. Here you can see it sitting on the cross member. It's just a little too tall for the bumper. I can cut the crossmember to recess the tank, or...

Here, the tank is on its side resting on the cross member. It's a perfect fit but the feet contact the sway bar. Would this create a problem? I'm really not sure it will. Click image for larger version

The third option is to cut the feet off and mount it lying in the cross member, but then I can never relocate or use it elsewhere, so I'm disinclined to go that route.

Got it. I'm going to cut the foot off the Viair tank, rest the tank in the cross member, and bolt the vertical portion of the tank directly to the cross member. Click image for larger version

ID:	625398 From this pic you can see the vertical and horizontal portion of the tank foot. That gives me the 2" of clearance I need and solves my mounting problem.
