Default MP3 Bracket and some extra storage

Ok, I had the MP3 player stuck to the dash with a piece of velcro but it looked hokey and was right up high yelling "steal me!"

Also I got my Wrangler without a center console so without dropping $$$ on a full console, I'm screwed for an affordable yet convenient storage solution.

Well, It was a nice sunny day and since I'm such a cheap bastard I took advantage of the nice weather to cobble up a fix in the driveway.

Simple enough yeah?

Watch and see how they work. I'm quite pleased with myself.

Still easy to reach while driving and down low enough to not be very noticeable, especially through my window tint. Also it's low enough that the sun doesn't glare on it so I can actually read it!

And here is a Thule organizer that came with a cheap plastic "mount" that you stuffed between the seat and console. Good enough idea but it was constantly falling off and being a general pain in the ass but I like having somewhere to throw keys, lighters, etc... so I removed the flimsy plastic "mount" (very loose term) and made one out of sheet steel.

And slide it into the organizer in the same slot as the plastic p.o.s. mount.

They both utilize the factory bolts that secure the front of the console and the best part, I made them out of shit I had laying around the garage.

Nice freeby!

Sure man, it's all personal preferrence.

I had mine up beside the radio and the sun glared off it so bad I couldn't see the screen. It is pretty low and I may make a new bracket that positions the player a bit higher. We'll see how I like it over the next few days.

One nice thing about it, if I don't like it, I can pitch it and make a new one with a touch of elbow grease and a few pennies.
