I have a jkur with a 3.6, 3" lift and 35 Nitto trails. I get avg of 14.5 overall.

only way to maintain stock mpg is to regear. I get around 17 to 19 with 35 mtr i went to 5.13 gears helped alot more than i thought it would

Trying to understand how re-gearing will get you better mpg?
The higher the gear, the more rpm's at speed.
You should burn more gas at the higher rpm's
So how would re-gearing net you better mpg?
Not saying your wrong, Just trying to understand this is all?

1000 mile trip to and from KOH earlier this month and averaged 16.8mpg on 35's with 4.10 gearing, auto trans. Build thread will show how much extra steal I carry on a trip.
