I dont believe you mentioned what size tire you were looking for, or if cost is a factor or not, or if you have a 2 or 4 door, or if you care if you replace them at 30k miles or not. All of those are factors to consider as well as possibly weight.

The Nitto Trail Grapplers and Toyo MT's are the two quietest mud tires with the best road manners. I'd go with one of them, followed by the BFG MT KM, Pro Comp Xtreme MT, Dick Cepek Mud Country or Mickey Thompson MTZ.

I have the Trail Grapplers in 35's on my truck. Not loud at all, quiet for a mud tire. But don't plan on running them in winter....not good on ice or hard pack.

I ran 40k on my last Nitto Terra Grapplers, before I sold my truck. Best tires I ever had. Awesome on the Freeway, surprisingly good off road (besides in mud).

I am buying a new Rubicon now, and switching to Nitto trail grapplers. Only for the looks I have to admit... + I've heard they are slightly better off road than the terra grapplers.....
Both are really good tires.

I heard good things about the Duratracs too.. Supposed to be a little lighter than Nitto, and you will find many happy customers here..

Mt Mtz. Super quiet. Really good on and off road. No balancing issue. They look really cool. Great in snow. I have 50,000 k on mine and they are maybe at 50%. I drive it hard too. Oh I have 35s with upgrades to the engine and 4.88 gears so it has power to spin those tires.

If you deal with lots of sand I would say general red letters. When I think sand I think of those
