Default MT/R vs MT/R with Kevlar

Descisions, descisions....OK dilema
Looking for some 33's ( 285/70/17) for the rims sat in the garage, ready for the winter months.
So I found some of the older MT/R's for sale at $750 for 4 shipped to the door.
I know that they have been replaced by the MT/R with Kevlar. These I can find for $1000 shipped to the door.
My question is ...... the difference in price is this worth it?
anyone experienced both tires? Is the Kevlar that much better? Is it worth the extra $

Ive ran them both, Currently running the Kevlar versions. Alot of it depends on the terrain your in. For the extra $250 Id save it and go with the older version.

It's mainly going to be for the winter months, we see some heavier snow falls on time and then of course the mud when it thaws. I've got bfg a/t's for trails but last year they didn't do so well once the snow turned to mud. So picked up a set of 17" Rubi rims and had the idea of a more aggressive tire for the winter.
I've gone back and forth with the mtr or Kevlar for a couple weeks now so thought I'd see if anyone has had both
the extra money I was thinking could be used for other goodies. But wanted to be sure that I'm not going to be disappointed with the old mtr's
Thanks for your input

anymore opinions out there? I am wondering the same thing. Is it worth the extra cash for the kevlar? What are the advantages/ disadvantages to the new tread design? hows the wear on the road?
