Default MTR's on 16"

I'm looking for advice on new tires for the Rubicon. I'm trying to fit a 33" Goodyear MTR on my Rubicon with no lift, just a Daystar 1.75" leveling kit. On another post, I asked for rim suggestions and was told that a 33x11.50 on 16x8's with 4.5in of backspacing would work well. The 16" tires should cost less than the 17's right?
Anyway, Goodyear dosn't list their MTR's in inches, so I ran a conversion of a 33"x11.50x16 tire and found it was a 292x74x16. Goodyear sells a 285x75x16 MTR, but that's smaller than a 33" isn't it?
Anyone out there have what I'm looking for, a 33" MTR on a 16" rim that I won't have to have spacers with?
Thanks,
Nathan

The 285/75/16 tire is the closest one in the MTR Kevlar line-up, but I believe it is a 10 ply "E" rated tire which is something I would shy away from on a Wrangler. The sidewalls will be super stiff compared to what you have resulting in a firm ride...

Good advice. How about the MTR they list for the Wrangler? Is that also a stiff sidewall? I know it won't be a 16". Anyone else have a thought?

i just got a set of 16x8 procomp 97's. im going to buy a bfg mt ta km2 255/85R16. yes it's an E rated tire, but with the second set of wheels, they'll only go on when i go off road. the tires are exactly the same width as stock, but they are 33.07" tall compared to stock 32.06" (255/75r17). discount tire direct has them for $202 ea, but discount-tires-2go.com has them for $171 ea. and discount tire will match and you can buy discount's warranty. hope that helps...

305/70/16 is as close to a 33 x12.5 16 that you can get I don't know if they make that size anymore but it is what I ran on my Dodges for years.
When I compared the 305 s to a 33 12.5 15 and the 305 was slightly taller. These will fit with the spacers on stock wheels and not rub, or on the 4.5 backspaced wheels.
