Muffler reposition
So, I had a muffler put under my seat a couple days ago, and have started to notice that it is slightly warmer under my seat, but I never checked before to see what it was like prior to the mod. I put the heat shielding from the original position above it, giving air space between both it and the muffler and it and the floorboard.
So, my questions are: to those who moved their mufflers, does your floorboard get hot to the touch after the engine warms up? As in, hurts to put your hand on it under the carpet?, and, to those with it in the stock place, how warm does your floorboard get after a 30 min-1 hour drive?
Thanks everyone

Anytime you move a muffler from its original position there is a possibility of this happening. Check in some auto-parts magazines such as Summit or Jegs, they sell alot of heat shielding materials. Some you can even stick to the bottom of the floorboard. These seem to work the best in my opinion.
It doesn't seem as bad as I once was thinking, so maybe it was because I was wearing pants or something. Whom knows.
However, I would still be interested to see what other people are noticing.

On a recent trip down the beach motor was working hard melted my floor mat to the carpet . I took the heat sheild from the original location bent it around a bit and screwed it in place .Works good now . Boy did it stink.
So far so good with the heat sheild in place, Ive taken a couple half hour long trips and the floor doesnt get any warmer then when it was stock....
