Default Is My Backspacing Math Fuzzy?

The OEM Rubicon MOAB wheels are 17x8 with a backspace of somewhere like 6"....I believe. That would be 8" minus 6" inches with a 2" overhang. Not sure about stock offset. That is about 1.5" inside the level of the fender flare. They are pretty well tucked into the fender flares.

So, with that logic the 17x8.5 AEV Pintler wheel has a backspace of 4.7" and an offset of about +10mm. So by my calculations that should move the wheel out to the edge of the fender flare, right?

That would be 8.5" minus 4.7" equaling 3.8" with an offset of +.4 inches. So that would be about 1" to 1.5 inches extension past the stock OEM wheels, right? That would be flush...I think.
