Default Is my caster low evough to need adjustable LCa's

I have a TF leveling kit installed, and I have noticed since it was installed that my steering is flighty and borderline overly sensitive, but I just attributed it to my ball joints that needed replacing. After an alignment I noticed my caster is 3.6 on the left and 3.7 on the right, jeep says the lowest the caster should be is 3.7. I am running 265/70 r 17 now and will eventually bump up to a 285/70 but no plans to go bigger, would lower control arms be a good purchase or a want of money. I'm just looking to get it back to what it drove like before the leveling kit. What about any other options?

adj. front lower arms is the best solution to increase the caster.

Stock caster is 4.2 deg.

With 33" tires, I would recommend 4.6 to 5 deg.

Be sure to tight the lower arms and the trac bar at 125 ft-lbs

What is the average caster of a stock JK unlimited coming off the assembly line?
How low is 3.6/3.7, is that a little low or considered alot low?

3 years ago, I drove my Jeep with 3.6 deg, and it sucks

Under 3 deg. it's very low, and you could have DW, especially with bigger tires

What JKU Rubi stated...the stock Castor is +4.2. You are fairly low and thus the reason why you have the flightly feeling. I would invest in some adj. LCA's to get your castor in the +4.5 to +5 range. If on a budget I think even adj UCA's could get your castor to +4.5 to 5.0 range.

Yes, adjusting the caster will help with the flightyness. Which option you go for depends on your budget and driving habits.

Cam bolts - cheapest option, but have some drawbacks. Do a search and see what you come up with.

Drop bracket - I am not a fan of brackets, but there is some positive feedback on these. (the problem is that they adjust for a very specific height, which more than likely is not 'your' height)

New fixed arms - cheaper than adjustables, but same negative as drop brackets.

New adjustable control arms - arguably the best option, but also the most expensive. To save a little money, go with front uppers instead of lowers. (they both perform the same function. Uppers are cheaper, lowers have a better range of adjustability. But at your minimal lift height, either would be fine)

With adj. lower arms, you get rid of the OEM lower arms, and you will have a better flex off-road

With only a TF leveling kit and 3.6/3.7 caster you really shouldn't need LCAs. On the other hand, if the handling is unacceptable and the steering is too flighty, the LCAs will help. The increased tire size won't change the caster.

Did you install the kit for the lift, or to remove the rake? If it was to remove the rake (and you have the TF kit with spacers, not springs), you could always take the rear spacers off completely and remove one of the fronts from each side..

Ok here are my latest alignment specs, maybe this info will help solve my problem...

initial specifications final
Caster:
left 3.6 3.7-4.7 3.6
right 3.7 3.7-4.7 3.7

Camber:
left -0.7 -0.3 - -0.2 -0.7
right -0.3 -0.3 - -0.2 -0.3

Toe:
left 0.23 0.09-0.12 0.17
right 0.01 0.09-0.12 0.05
total 0.24 0.17-0.23 0.22

I hope these can help diagnose my lighty steering prob, once again i am running TF leveling kit with 265/70 R17, if that makes a difference
