Is my front drive shaft on its way out?

No matter who you buy from, if you're questioning the life left in your front driveshaft it's time to just do it. The front driveshaft in a JK is a weak link. If it starts to go, just replace it.

All the grease will get slung out, which could indeed cause the joint to dry out and start making noise. Maybe you could put the front end on stands and have someone spin a tire while you lay under it and watch/listen to verify that the clicking is coming from that joint, not somewhere else?

Do you guys think it's time to buy a new driveshaft ? lol I'm just kidding!
My real situation, I'm considering changing out my axles and wondering if I should buy the teraflex rzeppa cv kit or just get a new driveshaft. I'm taking a off-road trip April 30th with a Jeep club and don't want to be in a bind. Any guidance or past experience would be greatly appreciated.

I don't wheel very often and is my DD. I will be doing more wheeling trips this year but not sure if it's worth the extra $400-$500. But I have always upgraded when parts go out.
Might be a stupid question but can you purchase and aftermarket driveshaft that would bolt up to my factory axle and potentially bolt up to an aftermarket axle?

Although I've only gotten a quote from one local shop, it too was high. I was quoted $550 installed. So that's about $100 or so more than going with one of the big brands and doing it myself. However, the fact that I can take it right back to them if there are any balance issues or anything else may make it worth it.
