My new Borla
This was the first modification I have done to my Jeep (08 Sahara 4dr), and I could not be happier. Went to the exhaust place here in Hawaii, told them what I wanted, had a couple of pictures printed off of the web and they hooked it up. I must say I really like the way my Jeep sounds now. I was hesitant to do it at first, but any body waiting to pull the trigger on this mod, just go ahead. I love the grumble tuffy makes when he starts up. Its not loud at all just enough for one to take notice. I talked at length with the exhaust guy (sorry to him as I was scared) and ended up with a Borla exhaust in the repositioned spot, with a fabbed end tube barely sticking below the bumper.
And of course I went out and abused my MPG by doing every sort of excelleration sequence I could think of, as I was really concerned NOT to have a rice sounding Jeep. After every accelleration it was nothing but smiles. The only change I do notice is a lack of back pressure when sitting still and reving the engine. Its not there when in gear as it down shifts but sitting alone it takes a little longer for the revs to come down. This is in no way a problem as I don't usually sit there reving my engine.

Borla makes a good product. I put Borla headers, pipes, and muffler on my '88 Cherokee 4.0L when it was 4 years old. Ten years later, I had not spent another dime on exhaust parts. Prior to that, it was about $100 a year for one thing or another. It was made of 304 Stainless and looked new when I finally sold the Jeep. Even the clamps were stainless. The next owner had it for 4 or 5 years and needed no exhaust work.
