Default My rear door storage

Just thought I would post a pic of the mostly finished product. I went with plastic pegboard after seeing one done (cudos to the person who posted theirs first, I blatantly copied you). The pegboard I used comes in 2x3 foot pieces so I was able to cut a single piece to size. I think this helped a lot with rigidity. Initially I wanted to use nutserts but ended up using plain old sheet metal screws. All the MOLLE gear is held on with zip ties for the straps to go through. Currently have my med kit (quick detach velcro back so it comes off easy), gerber camp axe on quickfists, multi blade knife, and my as yet unused pouch (probably for maps and such). I have been very happy with the final product.

I would think those quickfists will have no problem holding the hatchet.

X2 on the quick fist. I use them to hold a full size axe and shovel on my tire carrier. No slippage do date on the highway or trails.
