Default Mystery wire??

Anyone have any idea what this wire is for? I just bought this jeep a month or so ago and started cleaning under the hood when I stumbled over this wire.

It runs down under neath the radiator. My first thought was that the previous owner may have had a winch or lights, but wouldn't this be a little big for that? Also it runs to the opposite side away from the battery. SPod maybe??

Just curious, thanks in advance.

Did you trace where the other end of these wires go? I would be worried that there is power in them when the jeeps on

Mystery solved.
Took grill off and found the other end not connected to anything. They must have used a piece of scrap to run to lights. There was a small piece of what looked to be 18 gauge wire spliced to the piece in the photo.
Thanks

That is a section of wire from an appliance cord, drill, etc . Maybe remove it completely ? Amazing what people do.

I got it out of there. The funny thing is that where they made the splice they didn't even bother to use any electrical tape...
Needless to say I spent another two hours looking over the rest of the jeep to see if there were any other short cuts.

Looks like wire used for trailers. My guess is the guy may have towed his/her Jeep and used that wire to run lights from the front to the back of the Jeep.

Could've been for an in cab winch switch, I've seen people just use heavy duty extension cords for the wiring.

It does look like appliance replacement cord. Probably ran some bumper lights off it considering the location. 12 gauge stranded is 12 gauge stranded.
