Default Is it necessary??

Hello all, just doing some more homework.. That being said I have 2 questions.

1. Do I have to cut or trim my rear pinch seams if I put a 2.5 lift and 35" tires on?

2. Once I put the new lift and 35 tires on, can I get away using the stock upper and lower control arms? Or will it give me issues down the line?

Additional info my jeep is a 2012 2 door. Thanks for the help guys and gals.

Get ready for all the people saying "check the search bar".
Here is your answer
You don't have to trim the pinch seam but you can.
Yes, the stock arms will be just fine. You don't need to change your arms until you go much higher.
I'm gonna go ahead and answer your next question- you do not need an alignment after the lift.
Hope this helps.

The answer to both is...it depends

Not all 35's are 35 so clearance will vary, but trimming is a good idea

Not all 2.5 lifts are 2.5, mine came out 3.5 over stock height, I ran stock arms for a year until bending one on a rock. Actual lift will also effect question 1

This.

Cycle the suspension. If the tires are closer to the seam than you like, trim. If not, don't.

Any suspension lift will alter the caster. The higher you go, the 'flightier' the handling will become. Drive it. Only you can decide if correcting the caster is worth the cost.

I wanted to add if you're using your stock wheels you might need wheel spacers to keep the 35s from rubbing at full turn.
