Default Neec advice for a driveway fix

Well we found the limit for the dana 30 and 35's this weekend. now i need to replace the front passenger side axle shaft and yoke. I was reading the write up for axle seal replacement on 4x4xplor site (going to upgrade to the axle seals while i am at it) and it didnt seem to hard to pull the axle shaft out. I know some of you have done this either in you garage or even on the trail. How difficult is it to pull the axle shaft and replace it? Are there going to be any "special" tools that i may need? Here is the link to the seal write up.....

Is there anyone running these seals? I would like to hear a few reviews before i buy them. Any info on these seals would be greatly appreciated guys, thank you.

And sorry if the pic doesnt post...not too sure if i did it correctly

I had to pull the Pass shaft out to replace the U joint. Can't tell you how to replace the seals, but I'm pretty sure that you will need a 35mm socket.

You pull the calipers off and rotor and remove the hub nut and the whole axel slides right out the end. It's been a year so I might have missed something but I think thats about it.

we were playing on Crawl Daddy at Rausch creek in pa. My 98 TJ was walking up without issues, and as we brought the wife up in the JK, she bounced off of her line and as she came down, the front tires ( both ) were mired between 2 huge bolders which essentially LOCKED the front end. Now all this is happening at the same time in about 2-3 seconds... as she came down she inevitably hit the gas pedal. WELLL....... 35's on the dana 30 and it is now LOCKED, the power had to go somewhere right? she wasnt going to fast either, just had all of the stars aligned i guess

The axle shaft should slide right out as long as there's something for you to grab on to. I've had my axle shaft slide out on its own when I had the other side jacked up higher. Those seals you're looking at aren't replacement axle seals. They install at the outer end of your axle tubes. The real axle seals install at the inner end of the tubes and require you to disassemble your differential to make it happen. That being said, these Alloy axle seals are a worthy $60 investment as they keep the crap that can get into your axle tubes and mess up the inner seals out. To install, you just figure out the best direction for the zerk to be pointing and pop them in with a rubber mallet (or hammer and wood block). Then slide the axle shafts back in.
