Default Need Advice on Gearing

Requesting expert advice from the JK-Forum community. I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler X with the automatic transmission (3.73 axle). The Jeep has a Full Traction 3" lift and BFG MT KM2 35s. I will be relacing the ring and pinion gears to either 4.88s or 5.13s. What should I go with? The Jeep is not my primary vehicle. And when I do drive it, I say 60% of the time it's on-road. The other 40% is drving on OHV trails with the family. I'm not into rock crawling. Also, I'm not concern about the gas mileage.

Any advice?

being that you have an auto and based on what you've said, i would definitely go with 5.13's.

5.13s are good for the auto and 4.88s work good for the manual. The automatic has more of an overdrive!

i have the 4.88's and am happy with them. i do a lot of city driving, with some occasional mudding at my farm.

when i go to 4door, i will consider the 5.13's.

Have the 5.13's and 35's - no regrets!

Thanks for the great advice. Folks with the auto and 5.13s, what is the engine RPM at 65 MPH?

I think iIm going to call Northridge 4x4 and order the Superior Gears 5.13s w/ the install kit instead of the overhaul kit since my Jeep only has 100 miles on it.

Another vote for 5.13s. I know you're not concerned with gas mileage, but mine actually improved after I went from 4.10s to 5.13s with 35s.
