Need Advice Please!
Hey guys,
I know this question has been asked a million times and therefore my apologies. I just ordered a 4 door unlimited sahara and want to make an upgrade as soon as I receive it. I want to upgrade the wheels and tires without lifting it and without causing any rubbing and without causing too much sluggishness on the drive. I live in Miami, Florida and will not be doing any heavy off road driving. Yes, Im only doing it for looks.
The wheels I like are the Pro Comp 7005. I was thinking of going with a 17 x 8 or a 17 x 9. Not sure which will work and which one will look better on which tire. Will either of these wheels work? Also, what is the biggest size tire I can put on this rims without causing any rubbing? The option for these two rims are a 285x70x17 and a 305x70x17. Both BF Goodrich and goodyear offer options in tires for this wheels.
Again, I apologize for asking a similar question as a bunch of people have in the past but I really don't know which direction to go. I really appreciate any feedback you guys might give me.
Any other options will be considered which you guys think will add to the looks of this vehicle.
Thanks,
Ricardo Uribe

With the info you gave IMO you should go with a 33" overall diameter tire, such as the 285 tire you listed. With a 33" tire I would stick with a 17X8 rim so the tire is not too spread out. Get 4.5" of backspacing and you will be good to go. The only time you might rub with that setup is if you disconnect your swaybar and do heavy flexing of your suspension.
What color Sahara are you getting? I have those wheels on mine only I have 35" tires. Click on the link to the left to check out my gallery. BTW welcome to the site!
