Default Need help with factory mirrors

I just received my rugged ridge factory mirror relocate brackets, but can not get my factory mirrors out of the mounts. I've sprayed 40 in there, tapped it with screwdriver and hammer and wiggled the shit out of it while yanking (hahaha) on it to no avail. Has anyone done this mod or have any ideas on how to pop the mirror out? Is there a clip that I'm missing.... PLEASE HELP.... Thanx....

I had this same problem, I litteraly had to beat them out! I ended up getting my driver side off but had to litteraly break apart the plastic cover to get passenger side off.

Well that sucks... guess I'm not using them in a relocated fashion. I'm going to add a side-marker light to them though. Good luck!

Put a wrench or water pump pliers on the bottom of them and hit them as hard as you can to get them to come loose. It seems like they never will, but they do break loose all of the sudden so be careful

I just did mine and had the same problem. I ended up taking them off the door, putting them in a vice, putting a crap load of penetrating oil on them, and pounding on the screw/screwdriver. It took a bit, but they finally popped out. Good luck.

I just did mine and cant get the passenger side mirror into the relocation bracket. The bolt just wont grab the thread to pull it down. As for the driver side it said to tighten but not over tighter, adjust, then check the breakaway feature. when i checked the break away feature the damn mirror just became loose and it appears as though its been over tightened and threads stripped. Any words of advice and also what to do about the stripped mirror and getting the passenger one installed?

I would retap the threads to a larger screw. I would think any hardware and or automotive store should have the parts. The post is aluminium I beleive and is very soft.
