Default Need Help with Gear noise / Additives

Ok so where to begin.. I purchased Yukon 5.38 gears for my Rubicon from Northridge and had them installed at a "Jeep" shop. For 500 miles I couldn't tell anything was different aside from the gear change itself. Quiet as a mouse. Then I took it for a drive on the freeway, probably 35 miles at highway speeds. When I got off the freeway I could hear gear noise coming from the back. I took it to the shop for its 500 mile fluid change and inspection with the big question of why am I hearing this...

I was told "We didn't put the additive in because it would have been a waste of money since you are changing it at 500 miles... We put it in now.. The noise should go away."

Heres my question.. Could not adding the additive cause it to make noise?

Could that have damaged anything?

Anyone else go through this process? Am I freaking out over nothing?

Robert

When do you get the noise?
Accelerating, decelerating, turning, straight line?

The only additive would be the friction modifier for a limited slip differential. Do you have one?

The noise only happens when giving it gas. As in accelerating and maintaining speed. If I take my foot off the gas the noise goes away.

I have factory lockers.

No additive required for the factory lockers. The guy either doesn't know that, or he's trying to pull the wool over your eyes.

Noise under load could be rear pinion bearing, or bad gear contact. Did they take the cover off to inspect the contact pattern?

It's really hard to tell without actually hearing it.

They're freakin lyin, your gears should make no noise. If they do, especially after the 500m something is up.
