Need help with inner axle seals!!!!!
Hey y'all,
i just noticed that i have gear oil leaking out of my axle tube on the front driver side. i have a dynatrac prorock 44 with the 3in dis by .5in tube thickness. does anyone have a part number for that seal and do i have to press them on? i will be removing the wheel and axle shaft tomorrow to investigate further.

Yes.after you pull out your axle shafts, drain remove diff cover,i would mark your bearing caps, place them on floor just like they came. You may need to pry out the carrier. Now you can access the seals. There's no need to re-shim anything
thanks guys. i found an old write up on how to do it. hope this may help in the future for anyone. now i just need to get the seals,

from what i understand from the dynatrac web page. if i have the .5in thick (extreme duty axles) the stock axle seals will work correct?
19. Can I use my aftermarket axle tube seals with the ProRock 44 housing to prevent dirt and mud from entering the exposed end of the axle tube near the u-joint?
The inner axle tube seals are compatible with the extreme duty 3” x 0.5” thick axle tube option. They will not work with our standard axle tube assembly. A standard tube has an O.D. of 3” and a wall thickness of 0.3125” which will not yield the correct inside tube diameter to match the stock housing and work with the seals.

I have the same axle you do and my seal went out as well. I had the Jeep dealer replace it but he did say it was the same seal as the stock one. My axle had less than 500 miles on it when it went out. I have the half inch tubes as well. I have to say I wasn’t real happy about it because my pinion seal leaked right from the beginning and I had to replace that as well. They have been nice and dry since but the inner axle seal was like 350 bucks to have it replaced. I know it’s no one’s fault so I hope Dynatrac doesn’t read this and get angry, just bad luck. I love the axle!!

mu pinion seal leaks also, do i just need to drop the drive shaft and take off the yoke to get the pinion seal off? if so how do i get the seal back on, lightly tap it in?
