Default NEED HELP with lift

I am trying to get my draglink seperated from the pittman arm. I tried my 15/16" seperater and it wouldnt work. I went to Advance and rented their kit which has a 1 1/16" as the largest. I have been beating and beating and it won't seperate. I even tried my 8lb. hammer. What the #$^%& is going on? And yes the nut is loose and almost backed all the way off.

Default Sorry to bump

I'm in a bind here. This thing is not coming apart. Is my pickle fork not wide enough at 1 1/16"? I have beat until I can't hardly swing the hammer anymore.
I'm getting to old for this %&%^!

Why are you using a pickle fork? Go back to Advanced and get a Pitman Arm puller. Put it on, tighten it up as tight as it will go, apply a little heat to the arm with a propane torch any it'll pop right off. Be careful to only heat the arm as too much heat will damage the seal.

Because that's what you are supposed to use to remove the DRAG LINK. I'm not trying to pull the pittman arm yet.

you can also get a front ens service kit that will have all the above, presses pitman arm puller etc... x2 on the heat but be carefull not to damage the draglik with heat, and banging, and wedging, there is a tool similar to pitman arm puller that will press it off.

Try hitting it on the end of the drag link and it should pop loose.

No room for a hammer.

Sorry,I meant on the end of the pitman arm. If you can't swing a hammer up there you may be able to use an air hammer if you have one.

Nothing working yet. Sorry to keep posting about this, but at this rate I'm gonna have to take a day off work tomorrow to finish up this "4 hour" job.
Murphy is visiting me this weekend and reading me the "law" from front to back!!!
