Default Need help with offset and Backspacing.

I am looking at the DV8 882 beadlocks. My question is they come in 17x8.5 with a 3.95 backspace and -20mm offset. How will this sit with a 315/70/17 Duratrac? Will it stick out past the wheel well? I have a 3" lift on as well.

Stock rims should be around 6.25" backspace.
6.25 - 3.95 = 2.3
So these rims will sit about 2.3" further out than stock. (plus the additional width of the 12.50 wide tire itself)

Not an exact measurement of course - but 2.3" is close enough to work out about how far past the fenders the tires will sit.

There's more to take into account there. The factory wheels are typically 7.5" width VS new wheels being 8.5

Back Space measurement doesn't change with wheel width like offset does so all of that 1" in width would be in addition to the math you've already done. So the new wheels would be 3.3" farther out that stock wheels plus the additional tire width.

OP, we have the same wheels on a Jeep in the parking lot which has 37's and MCE fenders. It is a test mule for our new long arm setup.

What are the specs on the wheels you have? Do you have any pics from the front?

Are your "sticking out" concerns due to legal limitations up there, or you're concerned about the stuff they might throw around on the jeep?

Neither really. Just trying to get an idea how they will sit compared to the 4.5 BS I have on there now, and wanted to see how the wheels looked on a JK in general.

Also when I asked DV8 via Facebook they said the wheels in 17x8.5 had a 3.95 BS, but extreme terrain said it was 3.88 BS and Quadratec has them down as a 4.75 BS and 4.46 BS, so I am confused as to who is right.

I'll take some, that Jeep went home with the boss man today so I'll have to grab some pics tomorrow if the weather is decent.

Edit 2: I think I fixed it

Edit 3: it is there when I go into edit but it is not there when I view the thread.

Edit 4: I think we got this.
