i am in teh middle of replaceing the front passenger axle shaft. I opened the front diff to replace the oil just in case and noticed the spider gears are COMPLETELY SHOT!!! if i get a front locker, would that replace the spider gears in the carrier??.....and is it ok to drive for a while while we get the money together??? in 2WD of course

Don't drive on it like it is, you could seize your front end up. Remove both axel shafts, and remove your front drive shaft. Then you can drive around just fine, but you won't have 4wd of course.
