Default Need help routing cable

I'm at a loss as to how I should route the cable from the rear Ox locker into the cabin of a JK. I know where the drain plugs are, but I spent half an hour under the Jeep and I can't see them from underneath. It's really crowded down there...

The cable is quite rigid, and it can't get too close to the exhaust. I was hoping to get into the cabin through a drain plug on the passenger side, but the gas tank covers a couple. Where the front seats are there is a lot of heat shield mounted to the body, so I can't see those either.

I also want to avoid simply drilling a hole... but I don't know if I have a choice. Maybe I'll have to drill a hole in the heat shield.

After all the work installing the locker I can't believe this last step turns out to be such a challenge Gosh, I wanna finally drive my Jeep again... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on how ridged and long the cable is. There is access to the cab behind the battery on the fire wall. Comes out behind the glove box.

It doesn't make sense to go from rear to the front, and then back towards the seat. The idea is to have as few turns as possible, basically going the most direct route possible.

I think I'll have to do some drilling, hopefully only in the heat shield.

The ebrake cables enter under the center console through some elongated holes you might be able to piggy back along side them.

Eventually I went into the cabin through the drain plug behind the driver seat. Since it's right above the exhaust, I put that section of the locker cable through a heater hose with two hose clamps.

Excellent.. I went with the electric actuator for the the front OX and would likely do that for the rear as well.
Did you go with the mechanical shifter?

Pull a drain plug you want to use and put a light over it and then route the cable.

I went with the mechanical, for simplicity reasons, and also because it requires less cable/wire routing. Well... it is indeed less routing, but it's tough routing. That rigid cable is a pain to pull into the cabin... and then I have to somehow attach the shifter to the left wall of the center console. Maybe I should have gone electric.
