Default Need help, squeak after regear

I regeared to 513 a month ago and yesterday I noticed a squeak while driving, ok I need to open the window and listen carefully but there is a squeak. I am sure it is rotational as it is like screech......screech (like a cricket) and it does it when the diffs are warm....... it is strange though that what I break it is gone. Thought it might we a warped break disc but not sure why this suddenly should happen (haven't been wheeling since the regear). Definitely coming from the rear.

Also if I put the drive in neutral the squeak continues, touch the breaks (very light) and suddenly stops...... start squeaking again after a few 100m.........

Maybe it is a wheel bearing so I took the drive shaft out this afternoon and had a look at the bearings etc but all looks OK. I'll bet it is the pinion gear bearings, so maybe the garage need to do it all over again

Anything thoughts.....I hate squeaks.......especially as I know a squeak is wearing something, I don't want to get a total bearing failure (will justify my Dana 60 though :crazy eyes

Cheers

Mark

Checked my regearing by taking out the drive shafts, the lot. Put all back together, guess what..........still making the squeaking sound. it is definitely coming from rotation and I think it is my right wheel, tried everything. The squeak comes only after driving a few miles and is quite loud a low speeds

Put the rear axle on stands and let the car run but no squeaking sound so it looks like it is only under load. Any thoughts, I am getting really annoyed.

I had the same thing. Drove me crazy for a month. Turns out I bent the dust shield on my rear brakes and it was coming into contact with the rotor just a little after the rotor heated up. Same symptoms, it would go away under braking.

I just bent it back a little and all has been good. Hope this helps for you!
