Default Need help with the TeraFlex BB w/ front springs

Has anyone installed those TeraFlex Budget Boost front coils. When I purchased my kit I went with the option of front coils instead of front spacers. The problem I'm having is that the front bumpstop extensions are a little bit thicker in diameter than the top of the new coils which makes a really tight squeeze (almost too tight). Also the added length of the bumpstop is causing an angle that won't allow me to slide the front coil onto the front passenger side without lowering the front axle alot more than the write-up on here is suggesting. I can't lower it any more than it is without disconnecting the brake lines and some other stuff that I don't want to do unless necessary. I haven't tried the front drivers side yet because of the problems I'm having. I'm not sure where to go from here. If anyone has any suggestions that could help they would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Try putting the bupstops on AFTER installing the springs...I have done this with different lifts on different vehichles...but on a few Jeeps before, depending on the style of bumpstop the manufactuer uses...yaddic!

Just installed that exact lift this weekend.......I greased up the front bump stop extensions and the coil slid over fairly easy. I had to use a spring compressor to install the springs though. I didnt unbolt my driveshaft though, not sure if that would give you the needed amount of travel. It helps to also jack up the opposite side of the axle your are putting the springs in. You should be able to rent a spring compressor at advanced auto parts or similar if you dont have one or know someone who does. By the way, I painted my springs a metallic black because they were a hideous color.

Thanks for the help, I didn't even know that a spring compressor existed until I started asking around about the problems I'm having installing this lift. This is my first jeep, before this I owned import cars and raced them. This is a little different.

And yes, the coils are a hideous crackled gold color. What kind of paint did you use to paint the coils??

I used Rust-Oleum primer (for metals) and paint (Metallic Black) - bought from wal-mart, but they sell it at home depot too. I used cut up rubber hose to protect the paint on the spring from the spring compressor's "hands".

You may be able to fit the factory "foam" yellow bumpstop in between the coils in the springs, but I believe he was talking about the bump stop extention from teraflex which wont squeeze through.

Ya, those poly ones are a biatch. What I have done is grease the end that needs to be intalled into the carrier and put it into the center of the spring, install the spring with the bumpstop in there, then shimmy it up toward the mount, line it up and use a crow bar to jam it in. I've done it before and it's the easiest way to go about this when you are a grage floor tech. Good luck!
