I have seen many guys swap the YJ grill for a TJ one. Shouldn't be hard and I'm sure you can find one cheap but there are write ups on other forums...

You will have gaps if you just do a straight swap but if you're good with fabrications or know someone who is you can make it work

I know you're set on the round headlighs but...give it thought...yJ square headlights rock...

We talk shit about them all the time, but honestly, I'd leave them. The square headlights are pretty much what make the YJ and set it apart from other Wranglers. It's a classic look.

cheers guys ... i hear you both ...
i'm getting to like the headlights a little more so i might keep them ...
all those indicators have to be modded though ...
two repeaters ... each side !!!
and one on the grill and one on the front of the wheel-arch ... each side !!!
four per side ... madness ...
something will have to go ... ;-)

thanks again guys ... you might have saved the square lights ... maybe ... ;-)

I had done the same to my 92 YJ, I replaced the hood, side fenders, and the grill with 84 CJ parts. If you go that way you'll have to drop in a CJ radiator because of the location of grill. I dont know if a TJ will work. Most CJ and YJ body parts are the same except for the front of the Jeep. Doors and tops work together. Best of luck.
