Default Need recommendations for soft top....

Hey everyone,

I just registered today. Yesterday I bought a Jeep Unlimited with a hard top and so far I love it. Back in the day I was active on Jeepsunlimited when I had a tj(probably 1999-2002 or so) but it looks like this place is full of great info on the JK's. Anyway my question is what are my options for putting a soft top on during the summertime? I called the dealer and they want $1400 for a factory soft top and I've done some looking around and have found aftermarket replacement tops but not a complete aftermarket soft top with hardware etc. I've looked back through about two months of posts and haven't found anyone asking about getting a complete aftermarket top. Any info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks guys. I have been looking on ebay and there is an oem version that is not local so I wouldn't be able to pick it up but I saw an aftermarket setup made by offroad heroes. Do you guys have any feedback on them? I've searched on here but didn't find anything referencing them. Thanks again!

Default just got mines

well I up here alaska soooooooooo that ruled out anyone on ebay will'n to ship. just say alaska they ignore you. so I bought the oem soft from the dealer. my dealer was the cheapest. everywhere else want at least 1400 then another 100-250 for the same parts. dealer was 1400 and 20 for shipping. came with all the door surounds and every thing, even a few extra bolts and screws I think they were extras. the only problem it was in pieces(145 to close to exact) and the instructions suck 4ss. soo I would recomend it, pending on your dealer.I am very happy with mine. Just some advice, google the training video for assemblee and be ready to sacrifice 2-3 hours to do what should take 30-40 mins. after you put it together you will wonder what country the instruction manual came from. or if ya can play with a softtop at the dealership for a bit. I had never seen up close the soft top and how its mechanizms work. it is not like a tj .

WARNING: BUYER BEWARE
The manufacturer of this product is believed to be a Canadian based company called Californiatops. This conclusion was determined by doing research online and by what the author of this post eventually stated in his post here.

Californiatops is a company that has a long history of questionable business practices and they have been banned from eBay and PayPal. This has been documented by the Ripoff Report and can be verified by doing a simple Google search or a search on forums such as JeepsUnlimited.com and RubiconOwners.com. More recently, a member here had purchased a thermal liner from this company while they were still going under the name coloradojeepman and his experience with them can be found here.

I have personally tried contacting this company to acquire a phone number and/or physical address for their stated location in Florida just in case the information I had about them was erroneous and my inquiries were met with hostility and my questions went unanswered. Needless to say, it is our opinion that this company has questionable business practices and would advise against purchasing any of their products.
