Default Need a solution for knobs door surround

This is my second JK and both of my Jeeps had problems with the door surround knobs. The plastic piece slips off the metal bolt. I was thinking of either putting very strong epoxy or making a metal knob and placing a small weld to join it.
Has anyone else had the same problem or has someone made something different?

are you overtightening them? They don't have to be super tight.

Yea I think I'm over tightning them but if I didn't the piece moves. When the piece moves a gap allows the rain in.
