Default Need some advice

Hi. I just had my upper and lower ball joints replaced from a off road shop that is one of our sponsers here. I have only put like 30 miles on it since the work was done. I just noticed today a puddle of gear oil coming from the axle joint. I called the shop and they said that they don't pull the shaft to replace ball joints. But all the write ups and videos I have seen say to pull the shafts. I think they are just trying to not take responsibility for it. Do you guys think it is related to the work. Or is it just coincidence that there is a major leak right after the work? Give me your advice please. Thanks

I guess it's possible they may have a ball joint tool that could work around the axle shafts being in place.

If they do, just letting the shafts rest in the axle tubes may disturb the seal enough to make it start leaking.

Yeah. That's what i was thinking. Another question. How hard is it to change a axle seal? Is it $300 hard.

On the front axle, the shafts and differential have to come out.

It's also common for the new seals to leak. Sometimes the seal is damaged when the axle shaft is pushed through it.

30 miles after leaving the shop... sounds like someone didn't do something right.

Problem is that I have no proof. They are telling me that they didn't remove my axles to do the ball joints.
