Depends on what the actual problem is. If it's in the axle, odds are it was not caused by the driveshaft. If it's the driveshaft, and you are hearing it, odds are that the joint is already blown. Check for grease spitting out of it, or post a few pics. The stock shafts are not serviceable/rebuildable, so it will probably need to be replaced. If you replace with another stock shaft, it will only be a matter of time until the exact same thing happens. If you move to a double cardan shaft, yes, you will want a set of adj ca's to set the new pinion angle. And it wouldn't be a bad idea to get both sets so you can move the entire axle back in the wheel well.

You have a 2door. That rear shaft is very short, and it is fairly common for those steep angles to cause that shaft to fail. Keep an eye on the front shaft as well.

the front seems to be ok. it was slinging a little grease, but no noises or anything from that one. the rear drive shaft is the problem i think

If its squealing, its gone. Get it off asap or when it comes apart at high speed its gonna bang around and tear other crap up. You might be able to pick up a used stocker cheap or free to get you by until you can get CA's and a double carden ds on there.

at 3" of lift...after 20k ...mine started to make a clicking noise. Driveshafts are fairly cheap. Just replace them. front lower...rear upper will be fine for adjustment.
