Default need to tip the teeter totter..

hey guys.
I recently bought my third Jeep-- a simple Dune JK sport. I have had mods on my past jeeps, aux lights, etc. However, this time around, I'm looking at putting in a CB radio and preferably one with Bluetooth tech. But I'm also wanting to put on a windshield light bar. Again, something simple for now like a plain one from Rugged Ridge or Olympic 4x4.
budget demands room for one mod right now. I know the pros of each as I've read as much as I can.. but I'm looking for someone that might have both mods on right now and to help tip the scales in one way or the other.

ready, set, go!

cheers
A

Do you do a lot of night runs, and if so, what kind of trails and terrain are you hitting at night? Light bars are nice, but not really necessary, unless you are doing some hairy terrain in the dark. I have two pairs of duallys on mine, but I typically don't turn them on unless I'm doing a hill climb or decent, or to give someone else some extra light if needed; heck, if I'm not the one leading, they're more likely to annoy the person immediately in front of me rather than help. I don't find it necessary to completely illuminate the surrounding area on the typical trail - I mean, wheres the fun in a night run if its not dark? lol.

I'd say if it were me, the CB would be a better initial investment - especially if you're going out in groups.

haha-- true.. sometimes the darker the more fun majority of the trails that I go on, I hit up during the day. but I have been on some in the late evening/night and in those situations, I wouldn't of had the lights on due to following someone. that being said, I live in a rural area and do drive at night. when I had some aux lights on a bush bar in the past, I always seem to have them on if no other vehicles were around. I loved that I was able to see the deer, etc with enough time to slow down rather than only seeing them all of a sudden.

the CB--- I like what it could provide in terms of safety and comms in rural area and in bad weather. i only have a few friends who i see rarely on the trails that have one.

Sounds like you want lights for a similar reason to myself. When I'm at the farm at night, I need as much light as I can get, my headlights absolutely do not cut it. Reverse lights are also a good thing to look at if you have tinted windows.
