Default need tires ( Baja Claw?)

I'm looking into getting new tires, and been thinking about getting a set of Baja Claws. Anyone have any feedback on them, or what would you suggest.
thanks

I think they are the best looking tires around, but I'm still running my BFGs for now. I'd realy like to get a set of these, and I'm curiouse about the road noise.

So... long winded bump!

I just installed a set of 35/12.50/17 Baja Claw radials on my Rubi. They balanced well but the are a bit loud over 50mph, but if I have the radio turned up with the windows up its hardly noticable. Top down, doors off though will be another story. Hitting the trails this weekend to see how the new lift and tires do off road.

Rotate them often, if you think they are loud now you should hear them when they are worn unevenly. Sounds like running on a set of tires made of swimming flippers.

you've jeard them worn, so you must be able to give some sort pf input on thier performance. on/off road, wet/dry, snow/mud.

They were the first set of tires I ran on my YJ. Being young and even more inexperienced I ran them for probably 15k miles on one rotation resulting in some pretty nasty wear that was unrepairable. The treads wore like a chisel which made the most atrocious "road slapping" noise I have ever heard.

Went through mud, rain, and snow like a tank as long as you where moving forward. Put it into reverse and spin the tires a little on the snow would instantly turn it into ice which is these tires mortal enemy.

Of all the tires I have seen the Claws are by far my favorite looking tire, I am just not a fan of their performance while in reverse. If I were always looking forward and never in reverse I would own another set. If you are somewhere with all four seasons I would suggest a set of winter tires.

i had them on a lj and liked them alot.they were not too loud at all and rode very good.they did ok in the mud too.the only thing that you HAVE TO DO is always rotate the tires.i didnt do it for 12000 miles and when i rotated them they were a bit chopped and uneven and they caused the dredded death wobble.so then i put them back on the front and they were just fine,no more geath wobble.i have to go over r/r track everyday and it was scarey

I ran these on my CJ for a while and loved em. Only got rid of them because I needed something more aggresive.

As for the baja claws, I had ran a set for a while and will NEVER buy those tires again. I thought they sucked. Terrible traction, both on and off road, weak side walls (Punched holes in 2 of em). I have never had such bad luck with any other tire.
