Default nerf bar installation question

I ordered new nerf bars for 2012 unlimited sahara from the dealership. I get them home "N Fab" brand and notice the package says 2007-2010 on it. Any reason these would be different? Anyways I tried bolting them up and the damn thing just dont line up. And yes before you ask I do know which is the passenger and which is the driver side. Any ideas?

How far are they off? If its just a little you can try making sure that you dont have any bolts tight before getting the other ones started. If that doesnt work you could probably try lengthening the holes a little. If theyre way off, you either have to drill new holes or take them back and wait for a 2012 version. At least thats my guess, but im sure someone who knows more than i do will chime in.

I wasnt looking for any smart ass remarks. Does anyone know if the 2012 unlimited sahara has different mounting points than say a 2010? Thank you

Not sure that was a smart ass reply. The packaging doesn't include info for a 2012. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't fit. Doesn't matter if the mounting points are the same or not. Your bar doesn't fit. Period. Two options, make it fit or take it back.

I have a 2011 and there are lots of parts that fit previous year JK's but not the 2011 model.

Funny reading this thread as i installed mine this weekend, 08 Sahara 4 dr. One thing, i'd never recommend them. Holes didnt line up with supplied bolts and clips. What a pain in the a$$$. had to use a jack on it to get them close, mostly on the drivers side.

See what I would do is return them because I know you paid tons of money for those cause you got em from the stealership which means they dont care that they dont line up. I would go look for aftermarket ones that one of the Vendors on here sells which I know will line up and be cheaper. Best solution IMHO

For example these nerf bars from Rugged Ridge are made nice and look to be solid. Plus theyre most likely cheaper than what you paid. Plus if you have any problems with the install Rugged Ridge backs up their product and you will get what ever you want.

Racin, I ordered them from Quadratec. I thought about sending them back but decided against it since i'd probably loose the shipping cost both ways. About $156..

As a matter of fact, the dealer did no modifications to my Jeep. I did use Fortec, Matt came to my house the following day after i purchased it and took it to his shop in Ft. Lauderdale. He installed the 2.5" lift, tires and wheels. He even returned it to my house. Now thats customer service!
