Default new 35s and bb..slight drift at freeway speeds.

Just installed new TF 2.5 performance bb (+ jks discos, tf front adj trackbar, etc) and 35s.

Centered the axle, adjusted the steering wheel, etc.

No problems with esp, death wobble, or anything else... working great!

Only thing I have noticed is at freeway speeds, i get a slight drift to the driver side. Just by using a slight pressure (ie just holding onto the steering wheel) it drives straight fine. But let go and you get the drift.

Its definitely livable, but wanted to know if there were any adjustments I could make?

I do not have adjustable control arms, nor camber bolts (dont want em anyway).

I'd say before the tires and lift, the sahara drove on the street like a coupe.. it could actually corner well. Now it handles more like a truck (how it should! ;-)).

thx in advance.

Even though you installed a BB you still need to check your alignment, particularly your Camber which changes with lift.

Regarding your ride, it should not have changed noticeably since you didn't change the spring and damping rates. The steering system should have been impacted the most, as it appear it has.

You may want to get adjustable CAs or cam bolts , there are many satisfied owners of that TF kit that can provide detailed input.

Toe-In & Castor... X2 since you are running 35s you might want to adjust your toe in 1/8" more and invest in front adjustable lower control arms to set your castor between 5-6 degrees...Those two combination have been known to help with the handling...

Whick adjustable front track bar do you have?

I have the JKS one and I believe it flexes too much. I have not adjusted the caster or camber, either, casuing a decent amount of "floating", as I call it. While I wait for a new lift, I am going to adjust the caster and see if that helps,

Besides checking the alignment, you could swap all 4 tires left to right and see how it drives then. Especially on cars 80% of the time the drift/pull is from the tires.

Check your tire pressure lately?

I just put 35" Pro Comp MT's on and noticed they were drifting just slightly at highway speed and pulling to the right a little at stops.

The pressure was only 5lbs low in the right front tire but topped it off and pull went away.

thx for the replies.

Jeepnboy, I have the TF front adj trackbar. Hefty sucker!

Definitely do not want to go with camber bolts.

I'm tryin to put off adj lower control arms. I want to have a few months on this lift and decide if thats all i need, or whether i need more, which requires drive shafts, etc.

I also did check the tire pressure and all 4 (well 5) are at 32psi...

I'll search around for Toe alignment instructions... but can I set the castor as well? I thought camber/castor were only adjustable via LCAs.

Thx!

Yeah, the TF adj front track bar appears to be much stronger.

Adjustable lower or upper control arms or CAM Bolts (which you say you don't want) are the options to adjust caster. Camber can only be adjusted by offset by changing the ball joints.
