Check the exhaust. If you go offroad alot you risk banging it around it could just be a rubber gromet fell out or it might be rubbing somewhere. On my wifes Titan we had a squeak it turned out to be one of the leaf spring bolts. Not a problem on the JK

Forgot to add. Catalytic converter will squeak when it goes bad also. It usually will cause a loss of power but it might not be blocking anything yet.

check the steering knuckles at the end of each front axle. just had my right side front replaced when one of the knuckles came loose and destroyed the axle on the trail. sounded just like a limit indicator on brake rotor (sometimes-then nothing) --you have to look at each end of the knuckle as it rotates to check the pins

You said it sounds rotational and is intermitent, have you checked the a/c commpressor clutch or maybe the cooling fan or even idler pulley when under additonal load? Does it do it when you are parked at idle or only when moving?

I had a squeak similar to that, turned out to be the lower shock mounts....tightened up the bolts and it went away.

Hey redrock, I like that hardtop rack. Is it pretty strong for cargo? (canoe's) where did you pick that up at?

My Jk just started making a similar noise. It only comes while in motion. It comes at around 1800 and 2000 RPM, and will go away if I step on the gas a little more. Dont have a clue what it could be.
