New door hinge install
So after watching my outer door hinges turn to shite with bubbling, flaking paint, I did some research and found out they're still using the cheap white metal for outer door hinges. Jeeps in the warmer climates are probably not affected by this, but where they are using salt and crap on the roads in the winter are the JKs that are having this problem.
So I ordered the Kentrol stainless steel black powder-coated hinges (both halves), they should be here this week. My question is, who knows the easy way to align the body hinge so the doors close properly? I have the unpainted spots where the old body hinges mounted, but I'm almost certain my new ones aren't going to be an exact fit. Any hints would be welcome! Thanks!

Measure where the old hinges were and mount the new ones in the same location. Jeep doors are easy to align as the bolts are outside. Once you have the gap ok you can open the door and adjust the hinge in and out so the door sits flush. The doors are fairly light (compared to a conventional car door) but a spare body makes this a breeze.

Not sure what I can do about the area where next to windshield (where light brackets are installed). This area is now showing rust again after 3 times repainted.
Any other advice would be great. Thanks everyone.

Don't worry, it's not actually rust, just corrosion of the 'pot metal' that looks like hell.

Well my hindges did do the corrosion but the windshield bracket and the top of the hindges are def rust. They seem to happen more in my opinion on 2007-2010 and certain colors too.
